Since the release of their breakthrough album and worldwide number one hit ‘We Are Family’, this superstar group has continued to expand their diverse talents and has received over more than hundred awards and commendations for outstanding work in the entertainment and music field.
Sister Sledge began singing at an early age at the church in their hometown of Philadelphia. Eventually their grandmother, a former opera singer, had the girls performing at charities and philanthropic events.
In the 1980's, the world witnessed the full flowering of four beautiful ladies, with subsequent international chart topping hits; 'Lost in Music', 'Thinking of You', ‘All American Girls, 'Greatest Dancer' and the international multi-platinum record 'Frankie'. It was also in the eighties that the ladies rocked New York’s famous disco temple ‘Studio 54’. They partied and performed with icons as Andy Warhol, Grace Jones, Mick Jagger, Donna Summer, the BeeGees, Elton John and Diana Ross.
